Commerce core

The whole commerce core, out of the box

Everything on this page ships in the main repo and works on day one. You only reach for a plugin when you want something that's yours alone.

Catalog

Seven kinds of product

Every kind of product, in every shop

One catalog serves every channel. A product is listed per channel, with its own URL there, so a range can be live in one shop and hidden in another.

  • Simple, configurable, bundle, kit, grouped, gift card and subscription products
  • Configurable variants driven by attributes or by a list
  • Bundles priced as a bundle, per channel
  • Attributes with groups, and filter order per category and collection
  • Collections, categories, and per-channel URLs with redirects that follow renames
  • Base, compare-at and scheduled special prices
KindAdmin · New product
SimpleA standalone product with its own SKU, price, and inventory.
ConfigurableA wrapper that groups simple-product variants by option attributes (size, color, …).
BundleA pick-your-mix product: the customer chooses components from option menus.
GroupedSimple products shown side-by-side, each added to cart on its own.
KitA fixed assembly sold as one SKU; fulfilment draws down each component.
Gift cardSells stored value at its face price, and carries no inventory.
SubscriptionA recurring plan, billed per cycle.

Any kind can carry downloads - token-gated links, granted when it's bought.

Products people put together

What the customer picks or fills in before adding to cart, laid out a step at a time, with the price following along.

  • Options of every kind: text, choices, dates and files
  • Conditions that show an option only for certain answers
  • Rules that make an option required or optional, set the quantity or adjust the price
  • Templates kept once and shared across products, or handed to a whole product type
  • Pictures on options and choices
  • A step-by-step layout on the product page, with progress and earlier picks

Orders and payments

A payment ledger

Money kept like a ledger

Payments are authorized at checkout and captured as you ship, every step written down, so partial shipments and refunds always add up.

  • A payment ledger: authorize at checkout, capture at fulfilment
  • Partial fulfilment, and refunds with numbered credit memos
  • Draft and manual orders, and a cart console for admins
  • Cash on delivery, bank transfer, pickup and purchase order out of the box
  • Card gateways install as plugins
  • Invoices, packing slips and credit memos as PDFs

  • Consent with double opt-in, and a history of every change
  • Data export and erasure on request

Promotions and loyalty

Built, not coded

Promotions you build, not code

A rule engine of conditions and actions in the admin, with coupons, gift cards, loyalty points and referrals all in the same place.

  • A promotion engine of conditions and actions, nested as deep as you need
  • Priorities, stacking, validity windows and usage limits
  • Coupon batches, with overrides per code
  • Gift cards that pay like a tender, not a discount
  • Loyalty points and referrals, paid out as store credit

Subscriptions

Recurring products

Subscriptions with their own ledger

Sell anything on repeat. Each subscription keeps the terms it was bought on and an invoice for every period it runs.

  • Billed every so many days, weeks, months or years
  • Terms fixed at purchase, so later edits to the product leave them be
  • One invoice per billing period, never rewritten
  • Pause and resume, and time paused is never billed
  • Failed renewal charges retried on a schedule

Content and SEO

Beside the commerce

Content next to the commerce

Pages built from blocks, a blog, menus and forms, edited in the same admin as the products they sell.

  • A block-based CMS with scheduled and audience-targeted blocks
  • A blog with authors, categories and tags
  • A media library on S3-compatible storage or the filesystem
  • Navigation menus, web forms and signup forms
  • A crawler that maps the links on your own site

The admin

Built for long days

An admin built for long days

One back office for every shop, shaped to how each person works - and it's on this page live, below.

  • A home page you arrange, saved views, split panes and workspaces
  • Theme presets, from the colours to the spacing
  • Roles scoped per channel, so a regional team sees only its own shops
  • Language packs, and bulk import and export from one page

Plugins

When you want more

Missing something? Add a whole domain.

A plugin can bring its own tables, admin screens and GraphQL, and it stays yours under any licence you like.

Analytics, email and experiments

They live in Signals, the optional suite beside the core: web analytics, customer profiles, email and A/B tests, on databases of their own.
